Zeaxanthin, Lutein & Omega3 Fatty Acid Capsules.
Lutein and Zeaxanthin belong to the xanthophyll family of carotenoids and are the two major components of the macular pigment of retina. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are the only carotenoids found in both the macula and lens of human eye, and have dual functions in both tissues to act as powerful antioxidants and to filter high-energy blue light.
Omega 3 fatty acids (O3FAs) are essential because they cannot be synthesized in the body and must be taken via diet or supplement. The potential health benefits of O3FAs have been known for over 30 years. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and Eicosapentaenoic acids (EPA) are two major components of O3FAs and are concentrated in retina and retinal vascular endothelium.
Studies have demonstrated the essential role of Lutein, Zeaxanthin and O3FAs in preventing risk of Age-related Macular Degeneration. The combination also plays essential role in many other eye conditions like Cataract, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Dry Eye and Glaucoma.
